This is another image of the ‘Saint Clair angel’ which has previously been shown previously.

This angel is shown holding a shield with an engrailed cross thereon. Part of the armorial bearings of the St Clairs of Rosslyn was a black engrailed cross upon a white background. In this the colours are important as other families also used engrailed crosses but with a different colour or orientation.

In due time the Rosslyn Templars shall provide some images of these different heraldic devices.
