Kilmodan Parish Church
Kilmodan was not a collegiate church and so does not fall into the primary remit of setting Rosslyn Chapel in its Scottish historical, cultural, religious and architectural context.
It does, however, fall into our secondary (admittedly recently adopted) aim of providing details of sites connected with the Knights Templar, alleged or otherwise.
Kilmory and Kilmartin are alleged Knight Templar sites. Kilmory because of its' graveslabs and the cross which allegedly designated the chapel as being owned and used by the Knights Templar, and Kilmartin because of the graveslabs located there. Kilmodan must be considered to be a possible Knight Templar site because of the graveslabs to be found there. A connection of the Knights Templar with a medieval chapel, like Kilmory Knap, at Kilmodan cannot be discounted although there is very little information available about such a medieval chapel, if it even existed.
