Haddington » West end of the nave

This ‘compressed’ view of the west end on the nave. The purpose here is to allow for comparison with the pinnacles at Rosslyn Chapel. These are of greater height but bear some striking similarities overall. These pinnacles are on buttresses (although not ‘flying’ as at Rosslyn Chapel) but the type of carving is very like that at Rosslyn and elsewhere.

When the weather is more clement we shall obtain close-up images of the upper most part of the pinnacles to permit much closer comparisons to be made.
