Three pillars. The 'Prince's Pillar is at the extreme left. Recently an idea has arisen that each of these pillars represents one of the Three Degrees of Freemasonry. Unfortunately this is not tenable as the third degree of Freemasonry did not come into existence until 300 years after the building of the chapel.
