Unfortunately nothing is known of this carving other than it is of Lady Janet Seton. This carving displays a standard which matches, if not surpasses, the best that Rosslyn has to offer.
It was probably defaced by a mob in 1688 and that mob might well have included some of the people who had attacked Rosslyn Chapel the same year.
